International Students - Applications for International Students

Are you not a Portuguese or EU national and would like to attend a higher education course (a Bachelor's or Integrated Master's degree) at the University of Porto? You can apply to one of the vacancies we have available for you.

The Special Call for Applications for International Students regulates the applications to the University of Porto's 1st cycle courses (Bachelor's Degree) and Integrated Master's Degree for applicants who do not have Portuguese nationality or the nationality of another member state of the European Union. They therefore have the International Student Status (ISS).

Call for applications 2025/2026

Applications

Applications to the Special Call for Applications for International Students should be submitted to the academic services of the faculty you wish to enter before the deadlines set out on this page.

The application must be submitted online. Each U.Porto faculty defines the admission requirements according to the Regulation on the Application of the International Student Status of the University of Porto.

What do you need?

  • The necessary qualification, certified by the submission of application documents, in line with the requirements of the Faculty for the study cycle you wish to attend.
  • You need to speak Portuguese at the independent user level. If you do not have documentation to prove your level of Portuguese, you may be required to take an oral proficiency test via video call.
