We at the University of Porto take pride in regularly opening the doors of our schools and research units to thousands of children and young people in primary and secondary education, aiming to provide them with an experience in the higher education ecosystem.
U.Porto's Expo brings the entire University together in a single place, open to the general public. The event takes place every year, from March to May, over several days. This is how we raise awareness of the courses that we offer and the scientific production of our schools and research units, as well as some of the services available to the community.
If you aim to enter higher education, U.Porto's Expo is the ideal place for you to get detailed information about the courses taught in our 14 faculties by getting in touch directly with lecturers, researchers and students.
For more information about dates, opening times and the programme, visit the U.Porto Expo website.
The Junior University is a U.Porto programme that allows primary and secondary education students to explore their vocations and have a higher education experience during the summer holidays.
Every year, between June and September, thousands of students from 5th to 11th grade occupy the University's classrooms and laboratories while participating in educational activities and research projects in such diverse fields as science, technology, humanities, fine arts or sport.
Over 150 activities await you, structured according to your age group and supervised by lecturers, researchers and students of the University of Porto.
For more information, visit the Junior University website.
U.Porto Faculties regularly organise Open Days specifically dedicated to the vocational guidance of pre-university age students.
At these events, young people learn about the courses offered by our schools and can find out all they need to know about professional opportunities, support services, academic life, and more.
Keep up with these initiatives and other events for secondary school students by visiting the websites of U.Porto Faculties.
Sports Holiday Camps
U.Porto's Sports Holiday Camps are organised annually – during the summer, Christmas and Easter school holidays – by U.Porto's Sports Centre (CDUP-UP) and offer a healthy and recreational contact with the sports world for young people from 6 to 14 years old.
The activities that take place in the Sports Holiday Camps are very diverse, suited to all tastes. The programme is different every year, but usually includes water games, treasure hunts, kin-ball, tai chi, chess and archery.
