Schools and Juniors - Learn about U.Porto

Would you like to study at the University of Porto? Do you have any questions? Come to visit us and learn more about U.Porto!

We take pride in regularly opening the doors of our faculties and research units to thousands of children and young people in primary and secondary education, aiming to provide them with an experience in the higher education ecosystem.

Visit U.Porto's Expo, take part in the Junior University or participate in the Open Days promoted by our faculties to get a clearer picture of what awaits you at Portugal’s best university.

U.Porto's Expo

U.Porto's Expo brings the entire University together in a single place, open to the general public. The event takes place every year, from March to May, over several days. This is how we raise awareness of the courses that we offer and the scientific production of our schools and research units, as well some of the services available to the community.

For those who wish to apply to higher education, U.Porto's Expo is the ideal place for you to get detailed information about the courses taught in our 14 faculties, by directly communicating with lecturers, researchers and students.

For more information about dates, opening times, and programme, visit the U.Porto Expo website.

Junior University

U.Porto’s pioneering Junior University programme allows basic and secondary education pupils to try out their vocations and get a taste of higher education during their summer holidays.

Every year, between June and September, thousands of pupils from grades 5 to 11 participate in educational activities and research projects in diverse fields – such as science, technology, humanities, fine arts or sport – occupying the University's classrooms and laboratories. They are supervised by our lecturers, researchers and students.

For more information, visit the Junior University website.

Open Days

U.Porto Faculties regularly organise Open Days specifically dedicated to the vocational guidance of pre-university age students.

At these events, young people learn about the courses offered by our schools and can find out all they need to know about professional opportunities, support services, academic life, and more.

Keep up with these initiatives and other events for secondary school students by visiting the websites of U.Porto Faculties.

Sports Holiday Camps

U.Porto's Sports Holiday Camps are organised annually – during the summer, Christmas and Easter school holidays – by U.Porto's Sports Centre (CDUP-UP) and offer healthy and recreational contact with the sports world for young people from 6 to 14 years old.

For additional information, contact the U.Porto Sports Centre via e-mail [email protected] or telephone (+351) 222 074 164.
