About U.Porto - Social Collaboration

The University of Porto promotes cooperation and the establishment of relationships, projects and partnerships with various institutions, contributing to a closer relationship with the outside world and to reciprocal learning processes.

Industry Collaboration

U.Porto has fostered the creation of or participation in a wide range of entities that seek to complement and leverage its activity in the implementation and pursuit of its strategic goals in the areas of Education and Training, Research and Innovation.

These entities tend to develop their activity in more specific and delimited areas of intervention, focused essentially on carrying out research and development activities, on promoting and supporting innovation, on the economic valuation of knowledge, and on providing services to the community.

The area of Management of Participations of the U.Porto follows and monitors the economic and financial performance of these entities, supporting the representatives of the University in the decision-making process, in the governing bodies. This control has as main purposes not only to assist the decision-making process but also to assess the strategic interest and risks for the U.Porto of participation in these entities.

Given the close working proximity and wide cooperation, these entities are extensions of the U.Porto, being considered part of what is called the "Universe of the University of Porto".

Considering the dense and diversified range of the University's participations, we present below the entities that make up the "U.Porto Group", which stand out for their close relationship with the University.
