Open Science - U.Porto Repositories

U.Porto promotes Open Access to knowledge produced by its scientific community through its institutional repositories.

Following the principles of its Open Access Policy and the University's Open Access Policy Regulation, the U.Porto provides free online access to the scientific and intellectual production of its research community. In this context, the University offers a set of repositories that provide and encourage the consultation of scientific content produced by its scientific community, in a logic of openness to society.

U.Porto Repositories include:

  • The Open Repository, U.Porto's intellectual production in full text and with open access.
  • The Special Repository, which contains information resources produced at U.Porto in specific fields or for a particular audience.

These institutional repositories are where the intellectual and scientific production of U.Porto's academic community is collected, preserved and published, while ensuring open and unrestricted access, wherever possible, to the full version of documents and information resources produced at U.Porto.

The U.Porto also provides its research community with an up-to-date compilation of external resources that enable Open Access to the latest scientific research, as well as providing the community with support in publishing scientific articles in Open Access.
