The U.Porto recognizes the importance of the scientific community to keep up to date about funding opportunities that enhance R&D activities, stimulating the creation of teams and inter-institutional consortia, nationally and across borders.
U.Porto supports its community in obtaining external funding and provides relevant information regarding the raising of funds for R&D+i activities, through the local support services for existing applications in some of its Organisational Units, and centrally through the Research and Projects Service (SIP), specialised in fundraising for scientific activities and projects.
In articulation with the services and local offices in the Organic Units and associated Research Institutes, SIP provides information about institutional registrations in programmes and/or platforms and support in identifying funding opportunities, in preparing and submitting applications, as well as in their follow-up, post-submission and contractualisation. SIP's competencies also include the (co)organisation of training and information sessions related to attracting research funding.
Working Group for Research and Fundraising (GT IAF)
The GT IAF embodies the spirit of internal cooperation and sharing, periodically bringing together members of the Vice-Rectorate for Research, Innovation and Internationalisation, the Research and Projects Service, the Organic Units, Research Units and Research Institutes associated with U.Porto, in order to discuss funding opportunities for research, among other related aspects. With the aim of intensifying synergies and boosting collaborative initiatives in the research ecosystem, the group periodically debates and streamlines activities related to the sharing, discussion and concertation of topics and initiatives in the field of research, such as the raising of competitive funding and or the development of strategic projects and R&D+i.
