Sport and Leisure - Sport at U.Porto

At the University of Porto, we put the promotion of a healthy and active lifestyle at the top of our agenda, which is why CDUP-UP offers a sports and physical activity programme open to all U.Porto members and the public.

Combatting exam stress with the help of a Zumba class, taking a break from work with a weight training session, going swimming in one of Europe’s most modern university sports centres, playing football in the historic – and now renovated – Porto University Stadium or competing in the most important national and international sports events. Members of U.Porto can now access all this and more!

At the heart of sport at U.Porto is the U.Porto Sports Centre (CDUP-UP), which provides the academic community and the public with access to several sports and facilities.

You can always count on our qualified and specialist technicians for help, whether you train for fun, for your general well-being or to compete.

The UPFit Programme is open to the entire community and offers more than 40 fitness and aquatic activities, weight training, body and mind, dance and rhythms, combat sport and adapted sport modalities at very attractive prices.

At UPFit you can schedule your own workouts, from Monday to Saturday, without having to commit to a fixed-term membership. The UPFit Wellness service offers nutrition consultations and body composition assessments.

What if it were possible to get to class using an e-bike? And what if these e-bikes were loaned by the University? The U-Bike project, a pioneering programme, has a fleet of more than two hundred electric bikes available to rent for its community. The aim is to encourage cycling as a way to contribute to a healthy campus.
