Venues for hire
Venues for hire
FBAUP has three lecture halls available for hire (including the Aula Magna, the master lecture hall seating 237 people), subject to availability. All lecture halls have audio visual equipment prepared to meet your event’s requirements.
FEP has equipment and facilities (lecture halls, rooms and the Grand Hall, seating 434 people) available for academic, scientific, business and cultural events. The Faculty also provides event management and organisation services (logistics and multimedia support) and help with choosing the right space.
FEUP offers excellent indoor and outdoor spaces for events (congresses, conferences, colloquiums, summits, product presentations, educational activities, meetings and workshops). The faculty guarantees support during the preparation and execution of the event, from venue hire to the selection of menus and audiovisual material, technical support, decoration, entertainment or any other requirement.
The University of Porto’s sporting facilities are available to the public and academic community for exercise and sport, as well as for hiring for events. The U.Porto Sports Centre (CDUP-UP) is responsible for managing these facilities (including the Luís Falcão Sports Hall or the renovated Porto University Stadium).
Medical exams, chemical analyses and other tests
Housed in the Biology department of U.Porto's Faculty of Sciences (FCUP), for the last 30 years LEDEM has provided expert evaluation of documents and handwriting. LEDEM also provides specialised training for experts in the field.
The SME is housed in the Microscopy Department of the Abel Salazar Institute of Biomedical Sciences (ICBAS). It supports activities related to research, education and diagnosis undertaken at ICBAS and the Porto Hospital Centre (CHP) and is accessible to professionals from other institutions. The service provides an electron microscope equipped with a digital camera.

Medical and Psychological Support Services
This service is provided by the Faculty of Nutrition and Food Sciences of the University of Porto (FNAUP) and it is open to the academic community (students, alumni, employees and the immediate family members of students and staff), subject to prior appointment. Consultations are with professionals from the institution.
Every year, the Faculty of Dental Medicine of the University of Porto (FMDUP) provides about 30 thousand dental medicine appointments to the community at reduced prices. Appointments are with FMDUP students (under the supervision of lecturers from the institution) and anyone can book, with specialised appointments also available. The faculty also provides specialised care in the fields of dental prosthesis, surgery, implantology, endodontics and orthodontics.
The Psychological Counselling and Therapy Service (PCTS) of the Faculty of Psychology and Education Sciences provides services in the field of applied psychology to the community, as well as applied research and postgraduate training. Its services include counselling/therapy sessions for individuals of all age groups (Children and Teenagers, Young people and Adults, and Elderly people), as well as Addiction Counselling and Therapy, a Study and Support Office for Perpetrators and Victims, a Psychological Assessment Unit for Drivers, and more.
Housed in the Abel Salazar Institute of Biomedical Sciences (ICBAS) since 2004, SC 50+ is a service rooted in excellence specialised in the field of ageing, which provides personalised support in the Psychology, Gerontology and Health domains.

Part of the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Porto since 2004, CEAU promotes and supports research activities in artistic, scientific and technological development in architecture, construction, urbanism and other related fields. Among other activities the CEAU provides services to external entities in collaboration with FAUP's Centre for Studies (CEFA).
GEMAC is an Office within U.Porto's Mathematics Centre which provides consulting services and access to the latest research developments in the fields of statistical data analysis and statistical modelling; Data analysis and processing software; and Mathematical modelling. GEMAC also runs advanced short-term educational activities.
U.Porto's Faculty of Economics (FEP) conducts studies and provides specialised consultancy services in the fields of Economics, Finance and Management. This work is carried out by highly qualified and experienced teaching staff, and may also involve lecturers and researchers from other faculties and research institutes of the University.

The Unit for Consultancy in Occupational Psychology of the Psychology Consultation Service (SCP) of U.Porto's Faculty of Psychology and Education Science (FPCEUP) collaborates with organisations and other entities/institutions in the following fields: Professional Training and Development; Employment and Work Conditions; Diagnostics and Development. Among the partner companies are CUF, SONAE and UNICER.
U.Porto's Faculty of Arts and Humanities offers a wide range of courses, trainings and services / educational activities in the following domains: Communication and Information, Geography, History and Political and International Studies, Languages, Heritage and Sociology. These are available to the entire community, internal and external, including public and private entities, businesses and other organisations.
The Continuing Education Service of the Faculty of Psychology and Education Science (FPCEUP) develops “made-to-measure” training by establishing partnerships with entities looking for specialised contributions in the main scientific fields of the faculty.
R&D of products and services
U.Porto's Faculty of Engineering (FEUP) provides businesses with a wide set of technical and scientific services. These include, among others, research, development and improvement of processes, products and services, software and prototype development, or conducting tests and chemical analysis, as well as studies to measure air quality.
CiPS mission is to integrate and harness the resources of U.Porto's Faculty of Engineering in the development of new products and services, namely human resources, labour resources and national and international partner networks.
CEner-FEUP is a competence centre at U.Porto's Faculty of Engineering which undertakes knowledge production activities, technological surveillance, co-promotion of projects and dissemination of results, provision of advanced technological services, promotion of technology-based businesses and qualified support for postgraduate training and specialised training in the fields of Energy and Sustainability.
CECF works with the surrounding environment, in particular with the municipalities in Porto's Metropolitan Area and the North and Centre Regions, public services, private sector businesses and other institutions, on research projects, development and innovation in areas as diverse as communication technologies, intervention services, models and instruments at an urban and metropolitan scale for planning, simulation, construction, operation and sustainable city management. The Centre regularly collaborates with some of the best research centres in the world, including the following universities: Carnegie Mellon, Berkeley, UT Austin, Cambridge, Imperial College, MIT, among others.

This unit from U.Porto's Materials Centre (CEMUP) allows research units at U.Porto, as well as businesses and other entities from the Nacional Scientific and Technological System, to access advanced manufacturing and characterisation equipment for the prototyping of micro/nano-devices.

Situated in the Abel Salazar Institute of Biomedical Sciences (ICBAS) in Vairão (Vila do Conde), CRAV provides services to the community related to animal reproduction, in particular the equine industry.
U.Porto's Faculty of Arts and Humanities provides the community (internal and external, including businesses, public entities and other institutions) with specialised services in translation, back-translation, interpretation and revision of texts, under the scope of the Service Provision Support Unit (UNAPS).
U.Porto provides the entire community with the opportunity to exercise by participating in various fitness activities (water sports, strength training, yoga, and many more). UPFit sessions are managed by U.Porto's Sports Centre. They take place in different University sports facilities and are accessible to the academic community and to the general public of all ages.
LABIOMEP is located within U.Porto's Faculty of Sport and it carries out training, research, development and innovation (R&D+i) activities. It is considered to be one of the best Biomechanics laboratories in Europe, equipped with the latest technology and assessment methods of its field.
