The FPCEUP will celebrate its 42nd anniversary on November 5, 2022, continuing to project itself as a reference in training, research and community service provision in the fields of Psychology and Education Sciences, training professionals who have played major roles in various contexts of Portuguese society and in fields such as education, justice, health, public administration, business and socio-cultural animation, among others, benefiting from the demographic concentration and business dynamism of the north of the country, progressively aware of the role of their training areas in various human and social, individual, collective and societal activities.
In the framework of its training offer, it is worth highlighting the high demand for the FPCEUP, both by national students of excellence, as well as by international and Erasmus students, which nuances a plural training and learning environment, cementing the FPCEUP's status as a mature, responsible, plural and inclusive institution.
Currently, about 2000 students attend the faculty, distributed between two degrees, in Psychology and in Education Sciences, and several post-graduate courses - masters and doctorates -, in areas that also include Forensic Sciences, Artistic Education or Human Sexuality.
Besides teaching (which also includes a wide range of continuous training programmes), the FPCEUP also develops R&D activities and provides services to the community through its research institutes and centres (CPUP and CIIE).
The FPCEUP is installed since 2005 in the building designed by the famous architect Fernando Távora, located in Polo II (Asprela) of the U.Porto.
