Adequate nutrition, in the context of good parenting practices, and which results in an adequate supply of nutrients during childhood, is crucial for good child growth and development, as well as for the prevention of non-communicable diseases. It is, therefore, important to provide health professionals, in particular those who work with children and adolescents, with practical and in-depth knowledge of nutrition and infant feeding practices on the proper introduction of food during the first two years of life.
The Faculty of Nutrition and Food Sciences of the University of Porto, as a reference in the area of child nutrition, intends to respond to the growing interest on the part of health professionals, namely nutritionists, pediatricians and others, in acquiring new and updated knowledge in view of current recommendations , and still obtain practical skills that they can apply in their professional activity.
