Dental Aesthetics and Cosmetics
The aim of this course is to review and update the concepts of dental esthetics and the dental cosmetic procedures that are possible through the use of direct restorative techniques. The principles of dental aesthetics will be focused on, the qualities and limitations of the most suitable materials will be analyzed, as well as the most commonly used direct techniques, namely composite resin layering.
Students will have the opportunity to test the knowledge acquired in theoretical training in a pre-clinical environment, namely in the selection of shades and the performance of restorations by layering composite resins. They will also be presented with clinical cases on which they will be able to suggest and discuss treatment plans aimed at improving dental aesthetics and the smile.
