Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering

The Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (MEM) from FEUP offers advanced training in the field, founded on methods, techniques and the use of computer resources in various areas of Mechanical Engineering (construction and maintenance of equipment, production and management of energy, production planning and management, automation, new materials and products), as well as skills in scientific computing, databases and management CAD/CAM/CAE and computer applications for automation. The course also equips students with technical and personal skills, recognised as highly important in the business world and which are essential for pursuing professional careers nationally and internationally.

Building mechanical and thermoprocessing equipment (motor and rail vehicles, machine tools, metal structures, boilers, heat exchangers, etc.);
Energy production (thermal energy, wind energy, alternative energy, climate control, indoor air quality, etc.); Production planning and management (logistics, transport, industrial maintenance, human resource management, quality management, etc.); Industrial automation (production line automation, robotics, control systems, etc.); Development and application of new materials (ceramic, composite, polymeric, bio-materials, etc.); Design and development of new products (integrated design, ergonomics, sustainability, etc.).
