First Degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering

The Bachelor's Degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering (EEC) offered by FEUP equips you with a solid education in Mathematics (Algebra, Mathematical Analysis, Numerical Methods, Probability and Statistics), Physics (Mechanics and Waves, Thermodynamics and Structure of Matter, Electromagnetism), Electrical and Computer Engineering: Circuit Analysis, Signals and Systems (continuous and discrete), Control Theory, Digital Systems and Computer Architecture, Programming, Instrumentation and Mediation, and Electrical Energy Systems.

At the end of the course, you will be able to analyse somewhat complex electric and electronic systems, to quantitively explain their functioning principles and to evaluate their respective performance. Throughout the programme, you will also be able to develop your communication, teamwork and leadership skills, and become aware of ethical and environmental issues.

The broad base education offered by the Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering is complemented by specific and up-to-date training in fields that are highly relevant to the country’s development. Graduates will find many professional opportunities in industry sectors and sectors traditionally linked to Electrical and Computer Engineering (Energy, Telecommunications, Information Systems, Electronics, Control and Instrumentation) and, generally, in all activities that make use of information technologies for planning, exploration, maintenance and management tasks.
