Client Digital Certificates - Obtaining a Certificate

  1. Go to Sectigo's portal.

  2. Insert the text "University of Porto" and wait until the Institution is found and shown on the screen.

  3. As soon as the institution is shown, click on "University of Porto" to begin the Institutional Authentication process. The credentials are the same as the ones used for authentication in the Information System of the University of Porto.

  4. Once you have entered the credentials, click on "Log in" to continue.

  5. Additional information about Institutional Authentication is also available.

  6. Observe the attributes shared relative to Institutional Authentication, which are listed in your Digital Card. Click on "Accept" to continue.

  7. After authentication, you can select the type of certificate in the Certificate Profile section. Select GÉANT Personal Certificate, define the term (e.g. 365 days), select the enrollment method (e.g. Generate RSA[1]), choose the type of key you wish to generate (e.g. RSA-4096) and finally, enter a strong password for the Certificate.

  8. Read the End-User License Agreement, click on Agree and finally, click in the button Submit.

  9. Your Digital Certificate will be generated with the name Certs.p12 and it will be made available for download.

Notes

  1. By selecting this option, you agree with the generation of the key pair in an Electronic Signature Creation Device that belongs to Sectigo. If you prefer to execute this process in your equipment, you can select the option CSR (Certificate Signing Request), generate a CSR and import it to the portal.
