Wired Network

A wired network enables users to access resources made available through the data communication network.

Connectivity is assured by Ethernet switching equipment (wired connectivity switches), using IPv4 and IPv6 protocols.

Using the wired network

To use the wired network, you need an installed network socket to connect a network cable from the equipment to the socket.

Network sockets can be previously configured as public. In this case, you will only need to configure the terminal to obtain an IP address automatically by DHCP.

Troubleshooting

If you do not have the necessary instructions to configure the terminal or if the socket is not active, please contact the Helpdesk to request its activation.

Request to open ports to the exterior

Please get in touch with the helpdesk to request the opening of ports to the exterior.

A form in the Faculty of Engineering should follow the request (Portuguese only).
