International Programmes - QTEM Network

QTEM focuses on three main values: Academic Excellence, Business and Policy Relevance, and International Partnership.

QTEM international network

Founded in 2012, the international network QTEM (Quantitative Techniques for Economics and Management) aims to change the way its students interact with data in order to develop skills in analytical and quantitative techniques so that they can make sound business decisions.

At FEP, students of the master's degrees taught in English - Economics; Economics of Business and Strategy; Finance; Management; Data Analytics - are eligible to participate in the QTEM programme. Through a selection process, they have the opportunity to carry out two semesters abroad, combining studies in partner schools with a national or international internship in the network's partner companies.

The student thus has a path with a strong international exposure, obtaining a QTEM certificate stating the area of specialisation, among one of the following:

  • Finance and Risk Management
  • Applied Economics and Public Policy
  • Innovation and Strategy
  • Marketing and Supply Chain
  • Business Intelligence and Big Data

The QTEM programme is conceived to educate, train and provide future decision makers. International experience, academic excellence, business and policy relevance are the key elements. Through this programme you will become:

  • Highly skilled in analytical and quantitative techniques;
  • Experienced through concrete business and policy challenges;
  • Comfortable in international settings;
  • A specialization that will add value to the master diploma;
  • Exclusive contact with the Corporate Partners through partner meetings, the QTEM CV database and other QTEM services.

Students who are admitted to the QTEM programme might be eligible for two awards that work as incentives that support their academic path:

  • Millennium BCP | QTEM Award – see the rules;
  • GMAT Award - see the GMAT page.

The QTEM Program allowed me to excel in my analytical competencies and shape my path into areas that I consider truly interesting, mainly because of the different schools I have studied in and the different specialisations one can do throughout the programme. Additionally, the growing recognition by the different academic partners and its alumni has contributed actively to differentiate my profile when I entered the job market.

The QTEM programme offers a unique opportunity to develop a wide range of skills, from analytical to soft skills, immersed in an international environment. All this at an inviting cost (especially when compared to attending a full programme abroad) and with the confidence that you will get good quality teaching wherever you go.

More than a master programme, QTEM is an experience. Doing QTEM allowed me to study in three different universities, experience different teaching methods, meeting students and companies in several parts of the world. Besides the personal fulfillment, QTEM gave me the opportunity to develop my quantitative skills and my knowledge in different fields of Economics, contributing decisively for my professional career.
