National Mobility - Almeida Garrett Programme

The Almeida Garrett Programme is a student mobility programme created by initiative of the Council of Rectors of Portuguese Universities (CRUP) and aims to promote quality and strengthen the national dimension of Higher Education.

In the framework of student mobility, the Almeida Garrett Programme offers the possibility to perform a 1 semester study period, with full academic recognition, in a Portuguese public university.

Students enrolled in a Degree, Master or Doctoral course at FPCEUP.

This programme allows the completion of part of the study programme with full academic recognition.

Mobilities with a maximum duration of one semester.

Annually, in the two summonses available for this purpose:

  • 1st call: December 15 to February 15;
  • 2nd call: September 15 to October 15.

The application process for mobility for studies comprises 2 moments:

  1. PRE-APPLICATION, at SIGARRA;
  2. APPLICATION at the University of Porto, through SIGARRA.

The student is responsible for actively searching for the necessary information to prepare a proposal of studies to be undertaken in mobility.

For this purpose, in addition to the SRIM, you can count on the support of the Mobility Coordinator, who will guide you in the choice of the study plan and will be responsible for its acceptance and recognition.

This programme is not funded.

No, mobility students are exempt from paying tuition fees or other registration fees at the destination University.

However, they must continue to pay the tuition fees and respective school insurance at FPCEUP.
