The intensity of the transformative impact on all dimensions of life due to the multidimensional nature of globalization, through the often disruptive development of environmental, scientific and technological factors, brings out the need to continuously create education and learning opportunities to adapt to these changes for all individuals, highlighting the growing importance of the concept of lifelong learning (LLL) in a broad vision of education.

It is in this context that the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals call all actors to the commitment of ensuring "inclusive and equitable quality education and the promotion of lifelong learning opportunities for all". The FPCEUP, as an institution of higher education, wants to assume its role in this design, using its capacity as a privileged producer of knowledge, innovation and education to enhance the LLL, offering training opportunities in various fields related to its scientific areas:
