Doctoral Degree in Human Sexuality
The Doctoral Programme in Human Sexuality (PDSH) aims to promote advanced knowledge and research development in an area of central relevance to biopsychosocial well-being and health. It is the first doctoral programme of this nature in Europe and one of the few at an international level. The creation of this doctoral programme aims to fill the gaps resulting from the scarcity of specialised advanced training in this area. It is a partnership between the Faculty of Psychology and Education Sciences (FPCEUP), the Faculty of Medicine (FMUP) and the Institute of Biomedical Sciences Abel Salazar (ICBAS) of the University of Porto. It gathers researchers and teachers specialized in the area of sexuality from research centres (CPUP, CIIE, EPIUnit, UMIB). It promotes high quality advanced training with the establishment of strategic international partnerships, and with the ultimate goal of establishing an international centre of excellence in the area of sexuality.
