The affirmation of FCNAUP as the leading producer of national science in Food and Nutrition Sciences is reflected in the position of the University of Porto in international rankings in areas related to Food and Nutrition Sciences.

"Between 2010 and 2020, FCNAUP authored 725 papers indexed in WoS, with an average annual ratio of 3.6 papers/doctoral FTE. Of these papers, 42% were published in Q1 journals, and 12% are among the 10% most cited. FCNAUP research focuses on four main scientific areas, Nutrition and Dietetics, Food Science and Technology, Public, Environmental and Occupational Health, and, Endocrinology and Metabolism".

"The research published by FCNAUP shows strong alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, namely, 02 Eradicate Hunger, 03 Quality Health and 05 Gender Equality. FCNAUP's research shows strong collaboration with national health system institutions, international governance institutions (WHO) and national and international academic institutions".
