Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Students & Alumni

Career services are structures at the University of Porto, located in the various faculties and at the Rectory, which support the exploration of vocations and (new) training opportunities, projects and professional challenges and maintain a close relationship with the entities that represent the job market. The aim of these services is to promote employability, career development and personal and social skills, as well as to promote initiatives that give students and graduates (first) contact with the job market.

You can find all the career services here.

For the Talent and Career Centre, the concept of "career", or rather "careers", as the core concept of its activity area, is seen as continuous, non-linear processes that focus on personal and professional development throughout life. These are dynamic and subject to change over time, and it is essential to support students and graduates in developing strategies and adaptability tools to face the challenges and transitions in life (including professional ones). Given the importance of building meaningful careers, these must be aligned with their values, interests, goals and passions, thus increasing their satisfaction and professional fulfilment.

As far as career facilitation is concerned, the Talent and Career Centre aims to ensure that U.Porto students and graduates are the leading agents in building their careers, which is why it seeks to develop initiatives and intervention programs that focus on vocational exploration, self-knowledge and goal setting; the design, planning, implementation and monitoring of action plans; and the integration and significance of experiences.

Would you be interested in using the Talent and Career Centre? In that case, you can book a vocational guidance and/or career facilitation appointment via the Opportunities Platform or at [email protected].

You can also participate in one of the many initiatives run by the Talent and Careers Centre or your faculty's careers service.
