Our primary commitment to students lies during the academic period and with their families more socio-economically fragile.
The Accommodation Service is responsible for managing eight university residences and two studios. However, even though we only have 1072 beds, which makes it impossible to respond to all the requests for accommodation that arrive daily, we have defined specific vacancies for other students and researchers to promote, in some way, equal opportunities in access to university accommodation.
The residences are organised in such a way as to foster a feeling of sharing and responsibility, creating unique proximity between residents. This environment undoubtedly contributes to their academic and personal enhancement.
It is also responsible for managing the two E-Learning Cafés of the University of Porto. These spaces, which are open all week long, offer the possibility of knowledge sharing among the various members of the Academic Community.
