Schools - UP Initiatives

Every year, FCUP participates in U.Porto's two major activities for potential future university students: the U.Porto Exhibition and the Junior University.

U.Porto Exhibition

The U.Porto Science, Teaching and Innovation Exhibition is the ideal place to see the diversity of the University of Porto's training offer, but also to explore various aspects of scientific knowledge in an interactive way.

These are four days in which Science and Knowledge have their doors open to society, in a space designed for schools and their students, but also for families and the simply curious. At this open celebration of Science and Knowledge, visitors have the chance to watch dozens of demonstrations of the Science and Technology produced at the University of Porto and take part in many other tests, experiments and trials.

Edition 2023

FCUP Universidade Júnior

Junior University

The Junior University is the largest national programme to introduce students to the university environment (2nd and 3rd cycles) and secondary school students. The General Programme takes place in July and enrolment is done via the U.Júnior website, according to school level.

The U.Júnior Schools are aimed at introducing students to research and studying current topics in scientific and humanistic knowledge. They mostly take place in September:

  • School of Life and Health Sciences - 11th grade students;
  • Physics School - 10th and 11th grade students;
  • Language School - 5th and 11th grade students;
  • Maths School - 10th to 12th graders;
  • Chemistry and Biochemistry School - 10th and 11th graders.
