The final of the competition took place on 19 May 2023, in the Rectory of the U.Porto. In this event, the 20 finalists were challenged to summarise their doctoral projects in just three minutes, and with the help of a single slide.

Winner:

Jorge Oliveira, Ph.D. student in the Doctoral Programme in Molecular and Cellular Biotechnology applied to Health Sciences at ICBAS and FFUP

Title of the work presented: Fighting drug-resistant bacteria with refined compounds

Runner-Up:

Inês Pereira, Ph.D. student in the Doctoral Degree in Dental Medicine at the FMDUP

Title of the work presented: The impact of botulinum toxin type A for facial aesthetics on psychological stress, periodontal inflammation and periodontal disease therapy – a randomized controlled trial

Diana Felizardo, Ph.D. in Molecular Pathology and Genetics at ICBAS and FMUP

Title of the work presented: Identification of Exosomal-derived miRNAs as non-invasive high-risk BlCa biomarkers (ExomiRsBlCaMarkers)
