Accreditations, Affiliations and Rankings

All school’s degree programmes are accredited by the national agency for quality in higher education (A3ES). Pursuing our commitment with high quality education the school is also accredited by the international agency AACSB. It holds several affiliations with strategic international partners such as EFMD, the QTEM network, the Business School Impact System (BSIS) that highlights the school’s impact
in the region and the follows the Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) emphasizing the school’s commitment with
Social Responsibility and Sustainability. The school also integrates several international rankings across all study levels, such as the
Financial Times, QS Business Masters Rankings, QS Global MBA Rankings and Eduniversal

 

Accreditations

The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB)

Pursuing our commitment with high quality education, the University of Porto, through the School of Economics and Management (FEP) and Porto Business School (PBS), is also accredited by the international agency AACSB.

Agency for Assessment and Accreditation of Higher Education (A3ES)

All bachelor, master and doctoral degrees are accredited by A3ES. The University of Porto has also the institutional accreditation and certification of its internal quality assurance system awarded by A3ES. This agency seeks to ensure the quality of higher education in Portugal through the assessment and accreditation of institutions and study cycles.

AMBA

AMBA, considered the impartial authority on postgraduate management education, is the global standard dor all MBA, DBA and Master’s degrees, accrediting programmes from the top 2% of Business Schools in more than 75 countries.

EFMD

An international association of business schools and companies, with more than 900 members in 86 countries. EFMD is the world leader in assessing the quality and impact of business schools, responsible for awarding EQUIS accreditation. The MBA programmes are EFMD accredited since 2011.

Affiliations

 

Quantitative Techniques for Economics and Management (QTEM)
This international network involves the most prestigious Economics and Management schools in the world and excellent business partners. Under QTEM, master students follow an international pathway that allows them to develop technical, analytical, and quantitative skills to support decision making.

Business School Impact System (BSIS)
Awarded in 2018, the BSIS is an internationally recognised methodology used to measure the impact and benefits of the school on the community and the region.

European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD)
An international association of business schools and companies, with more than 900 members in 86 countries. EFMD is the world leader in assessing the quality and impact of business schools, responsible for awarding EQUIS accreditation.

CLADEA
An international network of higher education institutions and international organizations dedicated to teaching and research in Management. CLADEA has more than 235 affiliated institutions on three continents: America (Latin America and North America), Europe and Oceania.

Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME)
The largest network established between the United Nations and business schools. Its mission is to promote globally the transformation of management education, research and thinking by providing a framework for responsible management. The principles also contribute to the promotion of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

GBSN
Founded in 2003 by the World Bank, the Global Business School Network is a nonprofit organization that partners with business schools,
industry, foundations, and aid agencies to improve access to quality, locally relevant management education for the developing world.

UNICON
Is a global consortium of business‐school‐based executive education organizations with over 115 members worldwide.
The mission of UNICON has its roots in providing executive educational professionals with the best resources they need to stay
informed and succeed.

Executive MBA Council (EMBAC)
The Executive MBA Council (EMBAC) advances the cause of Executive MBA programmes by serving as a facilitator of best
practice sharing and knowledge dissemination, and fostering an inclusive and diverse community among high-quality programmes.

Rankings

The Masters and MBA programmes of the school are ranked in the Financial Times rankings. The ranking analysis several indicators such as career progress of alumni, diversity, international experience, research, among others.

The University of Porto is among the best universities in the world in 32 of 51 fields of study assessed in the 2022 edition of the QS World University Rankings by Subject. The University integrates the group of the 350 best in the areas of Economics and Management and the group of the 300 best in the area of finance and accounting. This ranking classifies institutions according to indicators such as academic reputation, reputation among employers and scientific production.
