This graph shows the evolution of the number of volunteers since 2007. There has been strong growth, with around 4,000 volunteers in 2022 and the prospect of further growth in the future.
These figures are always variable because they depend on the number of actions carried out (one-off and long-term), which is also variable.
In the field of volunteering, the U Porto Solidarity Centre has established partnerships with organisations and voluntary associations, both internal and external to the University, with more than 30 already involved in programmes and projects in a wide variety of areas.
We are trying to use social networks as a tool to promote volunteering. We took our first steps on the Linkedin social network in October 2023, but we already have 1,700 followers on the Facebook social network, and only created the U.Porto Volunteering Instagram in 2022, which has more than 500 followers.
