Events

With the motto "Creating Social Awareness", the University of Porto, through its Social Responsibility Unit, is organising the second edition of the "Meeting on University Social Responsibility" on 21 June, designed for the entire community of the University of Porto and other higher education institutions, with the aim of increasing the impact and visibility of university social responsibility.

With a thematic focus on the growing diversity (ethnic, gender, nationality, religious, etc.) of students, the democratisation of knowledge and civic-social entrepreneurship, the aim of this second meeting is to promote the exchange of knowledge, experiences and aspirations on the design and implementation of social responsibility policies and practices dedicated to these themes.

The aim is also to encourage joint reflection and debate on the development of new projects that could raise new questions within the university community and between it and society.

The event will take place at Circulo Universitário da Universidade do Porto and participation is free, but for logistical and organisational reasons we ask that you register by June 16.

We are sure that this meeting will be greatly enriched by a forum for sharing research results in this area, but also intervention experiences, which will result from a poster exhibition on studies and practices of university social responsibility related to the themes mentioned above.

If you have a study and/or experience that you would like to share, we invite you to present it at this meeting.

Proposals must be submitted in poster format and include "Title", "Author(s)" and their "Affiliation" and a short abstract (up to 100 words), by 3 June, here, in accordance with the requirements for submitting posters.

RUNNING SIMULTANEOUSLY | Poster Exhibition on "Studies and Practices in University Social Responsibility"

On June 15th, Núcleo U.Porto Solidária, in partnership with the Youth Division of Gondomar City Council (CMG), is organising a walk in the municipality of Gondomar for the entire academic community.

The initiative aims to promote physical activity and well-being, as well as prevent threats to biodiversity; ensure the conservation, restoration and sustainable use of terrestrial and freshwater ecosystems within the framework of SDG 15 of the 2030 Agenda.

With the collaboration of “Rapazes de Jancido” the 5-kilometre course in the Moinhos de Jancido, is a short trail of surprising beauty, which begins with the discovery of nature through the Mills Route and cleaning the respective park.

On this route, we had the presence of biologist Joel Neves as a guide for invasive control activities (harvesting the erva da fortuna in the forest; harvesting pinheirinha in the river and peeling mimosas and australias) and APRISOF - Associação de Proteção dos Rios Sousa e Ferreira, to guide us in visualising the fauna and flora present in the waters of this space, as well as the collaboration of the Instituto de Ciências Biomédicas Abel Salazar (ICBAS) to assess the quality of the river water.

You can enjoy and appreciate enchanting places full of oak trees, strawberry trees, alder trees and many other species, as well as enter restored mills and see waterfalls.

The initiative is open to the entire U.Porto community, alumni and families, and also includes a shared picnic lunch.

Registration is free, with a limited number of participants, and must be completed by 30 May using the online form.

Atividades - dependendo da duração da caminhada, podem ser divididas entre o período da manhã e pós-almoço::

• Caminhada descoberta da natureza;
• Passagens por Cai-águas, Ponte das Longras, entre outros
• Controle das invasoras:
  1. apanha da erva da fortuna, em dois pontos, com o apoio da Aprisof
  2. descasque de mimosas e austrálias, em dois pontos, com o apoio do Pelouro do Ambiente da CMG
  3. apanha da sanguinária japonesa no rio (em substituição da apanha de pinheirinha que está comprometida dada a corrente da água)

• Fotografar biodiversidade
• Plogging – Caminhar e limpar o Parque
• visualização da fauna e flora presente nas águas pela APRISOF na Ponte das Longras
• Avaliação da qualidade da água do rio Ferreira, Rio Sousa, Cai-águas, fonte do caminho e Ponte das Longras pelo ICBAS
• Almoço partilhado: Piquenique no Parque de Travassos (tem uma área para colocar mantas e 5 mesas com bancos corridos)

• Nota: Para este percurso de 5 km e de dificuldade reduzida, sugerimos que os participantes levem consigo calçado e roupa confortável, chapéu e protetor solar, um x-ato (opcional) e alimentos

A “Mostra de Ativismo Juvenil” acontecerá no dia 11 de janeiro de 2024, das 14h às 18h, no Círculo Universitário do Porto e será uma oportunidade única para conhecer iniciativas inspiradoras e participar de discussões relevantes sobre o ativismo juvenil na nossa comunidade. Neste evento, destacaremos a importância da participação cívica juvenil, oferecendo uma plataforma para apresentação de projetos como o YOULead e o YLLD, que buscam empoderar os/as jovens através da promoção da educação cívica e do envolvimento social.

Durante a "Mostra de Ativismo Juvenil", teremos discussões estimulantes sobre a organização de campanhas e manifestações públicas, bem como oportunidades práticas de se envolver com organizações locais e causas relevantes, como a Verde Associação, Marcha do Orgulho LGBTI+ Porto, a Associação Saber Compreender, o Gabinete da Juventude da Câmara Municipal da Maia e a V.O.U Associação.

A Mostra de Ativismo Juvenil será organizada pela Rightchallenge, Associação, uma ONG que desenvolve projetos no âmbito da inclusão social, igualdade de oportunidades, cidadania ativa e sustentabilidade através da educação e formação para promover o desenvolvimento social e profissional das suas populações-alvo.

Com o mote “Voluntariado universitário - VOA: salta para a rede... e faz!” a U.Porto dedica o dia 18 de novembro ao voluntariado mais Inclusivo e sustentável na diversidade públicos, de iniciativas e projetos de voluntariado desenvolvidas na, e com a, universidade.

Quais as condições necessárias para desenvolver um voluntariado mais inclusivo? Como incentivar? Que desafios na construção de um futuro mais sustentável?

Estas e outras questões são o ponto de partida para a celebração do Dia do Voluntariado na Universidade do Porto 2023, que se celebra no Círculo Universitário da Universidade do Porto, com atividades de sensibilização e de promoção da cidadania e intervenção ativa da comunidade académica no meio envolvente.

Esta será também uma ocasião para promover projetos de voluntariado desenvolvidos na Universidade do Porto, que mais se destacaram ao longo do último ano, reconhecendo publicamente o papel do voluntariado em diferentes áreas da sua intervenção.

As candidaturas ao Prémio “Dia do Voluntariado da U.Porto’23” decorrem até dia 9 de novembro e podem ser feitas através do Formulário candidatura prémio. Para isso, os interessados devem consultar o Regulamento "Prémio Voluntariado U.Porto" e preparar a candidatura de acordo com os documentos solicitados.

Apela-se a toda a comunidade académica que neste dia vista as cores do voluntariado e marque presença no evento, mostrando o nosso espírito solidário e a nossa coresponsabilização na construção de um mundo melhor.
