The FIMS Library has 14 000 titles, such as monographs and periodicals, and it is devoted to the study of themes related to architecture, urbanism and heritage. It originated from the Library of Family Marques da Silva Moreira da Silva, which was the bibliographic centre for the work of the architects José Marques da Silva, Maria José Marques da Silva and David Moreira da Silva. Since 2011, this library has been significantly enriched by the incorporation of the works by architects Fernando Távora, Alcino Soutinho, João Queiroz, Octávio Lixa Filgueiras, Alfredo Matos Ferreira, Fernando Lanhas and Margarida Coelho. The works helped expand the expression and the direction of the original centre, and are crucial to the study of the professional archives of the architects mentioned above. In addition, monographs and periodicals are continuously being integrated through exchanges with other institutions. Acquisitions complement and keep the library collection updated.
