Masters Degree in Mining and Geo-Environmental Engineering
The Master's Degree in Mining and Geo-Environmental Engineering from FEUP is primarily aimed at training senior executives in Mining Engineering who are professionally competent and qualified to understand, conceptualise, design and implement optimised technical solutions in the areas of Prospecting, Exploitation and Management of natural resources, as well as in the area of Geo-environmentalism, with a focus on preservation, recovery and environmental sustainability – fundamental pillars of cohesion and social well-being.
Industrial units for the exploitation and/or processing of natural resources, such as metal and non-metal mines, surface and underground mines; industrial and ornamental stone quarries; exploitation of mineral-industrial, mineral-natural and spring waters;
Consultancy and research companies/offices in the following fields: geology, geophysical surveying and identification of massifs; Surface and underground excavation work and projects associated with construction and public works, such as wells, tunnels, galleries and other infrastructures for underground storage;
State, management and monitoring bodies dedicated to public works, mining activity and resource processing; Consultancy companies in the following fields: Mining and Geo-Environmental Engineering, and Geotechnics; Research, monitoring and development in private or State laboratories, such as quality control laboratories dedicated to the mining and construction industry; Local services in the following areas: the environment, land use planning, and environmental recovery and rehabilitation;
