Masters Degree in Industrial Engineering and Management

The aim of this course is to train professionals who would like to combine a basic education in Engineering with advanced training in areas of Industrial Management. Graduates acquire advanced knowledge in the field of Operations Management (Quality, Maintenance, Production, Logistics), IT (Industry 4.0), Quantitative Methods (Data Science) and Business Management (Strategy, Marketing, Finance, Human Resources, Innovation and Entrepreneurship). The course also places emphasis on the development of creativity, communication skills and team leadership.

Job Opportunities

Graduates should be able to assist in decision-making when working in organisations as active agents for change and innovation.
They should be capable of providing management support to companies when a decision is being prepared in different operational areas, including production management, logistics, asset management and maintenance, quality management, information systems, process modelling, financial analysis, management control, strategy or marketing. Graduates who demonstrate leadership skills may achieve management positions in companies or start their own businesses.
Those who would like to pursue an academic career or obtain a doctoral degree may enrol in FEUP's Doctoral Programme in Engineering and Industrial Management or in other national or international higher education institutions.
