Masters Degree in Engineering Physics
The Master's Degree course in Physics from FCUP equips students with advanced and up-to-date knowledge in classic and modern Physics that underpin the development of explanatory models and the understanding of an extensive range of phenomena. Combining skills in Mathematics and computational methods (fundamental tools for the formulation and quantitative analysis of problems and models) with training that involves experimentation, data analysis, various forms of instrumentation, techniques of measurement and design and experiment conceptualisation, the course qualifies students to work in higher level technical or research and development positions, in governmental organisations, in the private sector or as freelancers.
Higher level technical or research and development positions; State Laboratories; universities, research institutes, schools, quality control, hospitals; Finance services sector, banks and insurance companies, consultants, industry, information technology companies; Further doctoral studies in the field of Physics, Engineering Physics, other Engineering fields, or in pluridisciplinary training areas (Biophysics, Environment, Resource Management, etc.).
