Specialization Course in Public Health Esta formação não está ativa.
The CESP is designed to correspond to the curricular part of a Master's degree in Public Health with the necessary adaptations to the objectives of the Internship in Public Health and to the suitability criteria and terms of reference established by the National Executive Council of the Portuguese Medical Association for the recognition and attribution of suitability and training capacities in the internships of the Internship. The terms of reference define objectively the total number of credits and the credits to be assigned to different curricular units, as well as the duration of the CESP. The credits assigned to each of the modules/training units reflect the training needs defined for the Public Health medical internship, in each of the areas considered, taking into account the basic training of the course participants, for the development of the competencies required for the future exercise of a medical specialist in public health.
Taking into account the competences to be acquired and the results to be achieved the CESP is organised according to a system of modules with credit units having as its orientation the ECTS system (European Credit Transfer System). The CESP is made up of 5 modules. A total of 27 hours are assigned to each ECTS, and two hours of individual work are assigned to each contact hour, making a total of 1944 hours, which confers 72 ECTS. The number of contact hours of the course is 648, corresponding to an average number of 13.5 contact hours per week. The hours of autonomous work are justified by the need to research bibliography for group discussions and to carry out exercises and prepare for the assessment.
The aim of the course is to deepen knowledge and develop skills essential to the exercise of a future medical specialist in public health.
