The continuing training unit of "Physiology and Gastrointestinal Pathophysiology – from Semiology to Therapy" was created with the objective of diversifying the offer of programs in the area of continuing education, promoting permanent updating and exchange of scientific knowledge in the area of Medicine, as well as the integration and promotion of education in the area of Health and Medicine.

- To know in detail the gastrointestinal physiology in particular:

Neuroendocrine physiology; 2. Esophageal physiology; 3. Gastric physiology; 4. Liver physiology; 5. Physiology pancreas and bile ducts; 6. Physiology of nutrient absorption and digestion; 7. Colon physiology.
- Understand the pathophysiology of several gastrointestinal diseases namely:
Pathology of esophageal motility; 2. Gastroesophageal reflux disease; 3. Peptic ulcerative pathology;4. Gastritis by Helicobacter pylori and dyspepsia; 5. Premalignant and malignant gastric conditions; 6. Premalignant and malignant conditions of the colon; 7. Malabsorption disease; 8. Liver cirrhosis; 9. Chronic pancreatitis; 10. Premalignant conditions and lesions of the pancreas and bile ducts.
- Apply several knowledge acquired in the area of physiology and digestive pathophysiology to medical practice, from semiology to therapy.
