Medicine and Rehabilitation in Football
Football is the sport with more practitioners in Portugal. Therefore, the Portuguese Football Federation intends to establish a partnership with the Faculty of Medicine of Porto University in order to develop an educational programme for football physiotherapists and nurses, specifically addressing the modality in the themes of medical emergency on the field (training and game), evaluation and treatment of injuries, anti-doping and the functions of the medical department of a football team.
The course aims to affirm itself in the context of medicine and rehabilitation in football, establishing itself as a specific training for physiotherapists, nurses and sports science professionals who work or intend to work in football teams.
The course intends to accredit physiotherapists, nurses and sports science professionals to work in the medical department of clubs that participate in competitions organized by the Portuguese Football Federation.
