To instill a strong focus on lexis, in terms of expanding the students' knowledge of phrases, idioms, and collocation. To develop an awareness of levels of formality and informality (register). To engage and motivate students through meaningful, and motivating, contexts and topics. By the end of the course, students should be completed level C.1 of the Common European framework of reference.
