1. To identify and define elementary notions of strategy and geopolitics | 2. To identify and analyse the origins of geopolitical and geostrategic thought | 3. To identify, distinguish and analyse different doctrines and theories of classical geopolitics, as well as the main criticisms to them | 4. To identity and analyse the main elements of the new geopolitics | 5. To identify and critically assess the contribution of critical geopolitics to the study of international phenomena | 6. To understand the geopolitical thought in Portugal and reflect on the major issues of national relevance from the perspective of geopolitics and geostrategy.
