Doctoral Degree in Doctoral Degree Program in Biodiversity, Genetics and Evolution

The Doctoral Programme in Biodiversity, Genetics and Evolution (BIODIV), resulting from the collaboration between the U.Porto and the U.Lisboa Faculties of Sciences, offers postgraduate training rooted in excellence in the various fields covered by the course plan. Students benefit from having direct access to the teams and laboratories of different partner research units, which are responsible for the development of quality research on an international level in the fields of Biodiversity, Functional Ecology, Phylogenetics, Evolution, Behaviour, Theoretical Biology, Developmental Biology and Bioinformatics, among others.

Job Opportunities

PhD holders in Biodiversity, Genetics and Evolution can be easily integrated into intelligent specialisation strategies defined for regions or on a national level. On the other hand, they will certainly play an important role in the dissemination of scientific culture and in the promotion of cultural activities through their interaction with institutions dedicated to that purpose (for example, Natural History and Science Museums, Foundations, NGOs and other associations).
