Writting in the urban context in medieval and pre-modern Porto

To provide the basis of the concepts underlying the thematic of the course, namely, scriptoria, document, memory organisation, archive, registry, library, and inventory. | To understand the historical context and the diachronic evolution of the urban space of Porto throughout multiple perspectives: the municipal administration of the city; the relations with the central administration; the episcopal administration; the religious and charitable institutions; the commercial relations within the city and with the outside world, among others. | To analyse the performance of the various agents involved in document production and conservation. | To stimulate the development of learning using Web tools. | To provide moments of reflection and sharing resulting from research practices. | To promote the deepening of knowledge and autonomous research by the trainees.
