Doctoral Degree in Migration and Modernity: Historical and Cultural Challenges
Doctoral Programme in Migration and Modernity: Historical and Cultural Challenges (MOVES) is a joint programme by U.Porto (through FLUP), U.Karlova Praha (Czech Republic), Université Montpellier III Paul Valéry (France), Freie Universität Berlin (Germany) and the University of Kent (United Kingdom), which intends to train a new generation of experts on the ability to respond to future migration crisis with innovative solutions. Throughout the course, which is fully lectured in English, students acquire the skills and knowledge required to participate in current debates regarding new global uncertainties and challenges. They will be prepared to take on leading positions in future projects, both in academia and society.
Activities related to future migratory crises, including working with innovative solutions; Intervention in current debates about new global uncertainties and challenges based on historical knowledge and the student's own mobility experiences and collaborations in international teams; Activities that require English skills and intellectual autonomy, which are crucial in leadership positions in future projects in the academia or society.
