First Degree in Mining and Geo-Environmental Engineering
L.EMG is the first study cycle (licentiate) in mining engineering at FEUP. It aims at the capacitation of a mining engineer with a design profile, able not only to operate but also to design a mining system in its full complexity.
Job Opportunities
Within the mining industry: Extraction and processing of metal and industrial ores, fuel, ornamental rocks and inert materials.
Fields of activity: extraction industry in mines, quarries, cement industry and the water industry; construction, involving earthmoving, tunnels and dams.
Services: applied research laboratories, supervision and licencing, design and planning offices.
In the environmental field: Environmental impact and assessment studies; environmental technologies related to the treatment of solid waste and intervention in contaminated sites, in particular groundwater and earth.
Fields of activity: Companies operating in the Geo-environmental field, design offices, land use planning services.
