Introduction

With the growth in the use of video, it became essential to invest in a tool that would allow teachers to create videos and make them available to students in complete safety. From videos recorded at home to videos recorded in a studio, Panopto is the system that supports these activities.

What does it do?

Panopto is the University of Porto's solution for recording and broadcasting lectures. You can use it to record lectures, presentations, review materials, screen recordings, deliver video assignments or interviews, with all the videos available to watch and review whenever you want. All you need is a computer or mobile device.

Who can use?

The focus is on use in course units. Any teacher who has the course unit in Moodle can easily use Panopto to record content. When the teacher allows it, students can record content for the course unit. But Panopto is also available for any University of Porto employee to use the platform to create video content.

How to login?

Panopto is integrated with Moodle U.Porto. Teachers and students access it via Moodle, using the Panopto-videos sidebar. These teachers/trainers can record videos for their units. Automatically, only students with access to the course unit will have access to the videos available there. Panopto is also integrated with the Academia UP platform on the same principle as Moodle U.Porto.
