What does it do?

What does it do?

This tool makes it possible to check the originality of a work by comparing similar texts. The similarity report generated by Turnitin is the result of a literal comparison of the submitted text with existing texts in thousands of references indexed in the Turnitin database (web pages, student work, magazines, newspapers and publications).

Who can use it?

Who can use it?

Teachers, researchers and staff at the University of Porto can access the platform directly and check the originality of academic documents.

Students do not have access to Turnitin on their own initiative, as its use depends on the supervision of a teacher/supervisor. They will have to create a Turnitin assignment on the course unit page on Moodle U.Porto, or create a Class directly on the Turnitin platform.
