First Degree in Biochemistry
The Bachelor's Degree in Biochemistry from FCUP provides a solid foundation in the fundamentals of Biochemistry. Students acquire scientific and technological skills applicable to Research in University Laboratories, Research Centres or companies, in basic or applied sciences; comprehension of molecular architecture, division and differentiation of cells, or the manipulation of molecules and cells to produce biologically active substances (e.g., new drugs).
Job Opportunities
Graduates of Biochemistry are equipped to hold technical positions in industries and services not limited to Biochemistry, but covering several fields, including Biophysics, Molecular and Cellular Biology, Physiology and Microbiology. The course plan also allows students to acquire skills in optional disciplines, such as Immunology, Food Chemistry, Ecology, and more.
