Masters Degree in Soil Assessment and Remediation

The Master's Degree in Soil Assessment and Remediation, offered by the Faculty of Sciences in partnership with the Faculty of Engineering, equips professionals with the expertise and skills needed to carry out soil quality assessments, and to propose suitable remediation strategies for the type of degradation and the future use of the area in question. Students will acquire essential transversal skills in the fields of Geology, Hydrology, Modelling, Ecology, Ecotoxicology, Microbiology, Risk Assessment, Soil Remediation, and Geographic Information Systems.

Management of agroecosystems and forest areas; Risk assessment of contaminated areas; Rehabilitation of contaminated areas; Risk Assessment of Phytopharmaceutical products; Development and implementation of projects dedicated to rural development and circular economy; Urban planning, nature conservation and natural resources.

R&D activities in the domain of soil assessment and remediation; Develop and manage projects and create new business ideas focused on soil assessment/remediation (agricultural land, residential land, industrial land and forest land), including the assessment and protection of water masses, ecosystems and human health.
