Levels
This exam has six levels, HSK 1 being the basic and HSK 6 the most advanced. Currently, only four levels are available at our Confucius Institute.

How do I register for the HSK exams?
STEP 1 (ENROLMENT):
- Access https://www.chinesetest.cn/ using Google Chrome, Firefox, or Internet Explorer (above version 6.0). Other browsers are not supported. The new version of the site only has an English translation. You can translate the old version of the site into English, Spanish, French, and other languages. If you are registering for the first time, please create a new account.
- Enter the Test Centre and choose the exam level. You can choose one or two tests at different times on the same day. Choose the location where the test will take place: Confucius Institute at the University of Porto. The information on this page cannot be modified.
- Fill in your details. Upload your passport photo (required). Requirements: white background; JPG format; 180 x 240; less than 100 kb. Wait for the photo to load and confirm registration.
STEP 2 (PAYMENT):
- After registering on the official website, ICUP will contact you (via email) with instructions on how to pay.
- Once payment has been made, the amount paid for the exam will not be refunded.
STEP 3 (VALIDATION):
- Registration will be validated once you receive an e-mail from us confirming receipt of proof of payment. If this does not happen, please contact us using the contact details provided.
STEP 4 (DOWNLOAD TO TICKET):
- When the registration deadline closes, you should download the HSK permit ticket from the official website, check your information (especially your name and ID number), and print it out. On the exam day, you should bring this printed ticket, your ID card, a 2B pencil, and an eraser.
