Guided tours

In addition to the presentation of the long-term exhibition and the temporary exhibitions at the institution's headquarters and at the Calouste Gulbenkian Pavilion, the Abel Salazar House-Museum promotes other educational activities. Get to know them!

The Casa-Museu promotes guided visits to the permanent exhibition and temporary exhibitions, as well as ateliers and workshops, among other activities, aimed, above all, at the local community and the University of Porto community.

Guided visits

CMAS, through its Educational Service, promotes guided tours for groups or individuals aimed at providing specialized support for the public and more personalized cultural mediation, through which visitors have the opportunity to interact with the monitors, enabling them to explore in greater depth the exhibition, educational and heritage content that meets their interests, enriching their visiting experience.

Guided tours are available for different audiences, of all types and ages. Guided tours take place by prior appointment and are led by CMAS staff. They can take place at the Palacete or at the Calouste Gulbenkian Pavilion.

Pedagogical activities

Through various initiatives, CMAS provides pedagogical activities as learning tools present in different methods and programs. Pedagogical activities are thought of as resources that bring a series of benefits to their recipients, such as more creativity, interest, involvement with the themes and improved socialization. The main objective of these activities is to stimulate and provide actions that facilitate the transmission of knowledge, always taking into account the social and cultural context.

Although the pedagogical activities are mostly aimed at children, namely school groups, they can be aimed at various age groups. The educational activities take place by appointment and are led by CMAS technicians. They can be held at the Palacete or at the Calouste Gulbenkian Pavilion.

Training actions, at the intersection of Art and Science

Through training sessions that combine the themes of art and science (dynamics present in the life of Abel Salazar), CMAS provides qualification, enhancement and dignification of the House-Museum. The sessions, dedicated to themes that combine art and science, are developed and promoted by CMAS technicians, and are publicized in advance so that those interested can register. The training sessions can be held at the Palacete or at the Calouste Gulbenkian Pavilion.

Celebrations on national and international days

The Abel Salazar House-Museum believes that it has a decisive role to play in raising awareness and publicizing important milestones, both in the museological field and in the field of Abel Salazar. For this reason, CMAS promotes various celebrations on national and international days, with a planned agenda dedicated to the events in question. The celebrations are developed and promoted by CMAS staff and are announced in advance. They can take place at the Palacete or at the Calouste Gulbenkian Pavilion.
