Food and Nutrition labeling for Food Service and Industry sectors - Food and Nutrition Literacy (InfoLabel)
The objectives of this course are to train economic agents, operators in the food sector and other interested parties on:
a) General and nutrition labelling;
b) Labeling of foodstuffs and materials in contact.
Skills to acquire:
I. Know the legal obligations and specificities of the labeling of pre- and non-pre-packaged foodstuffs;
II. Understand the dynamics of labeling legislation at European and national level;
III. Know when and how to apply mandatory versus optional mentions;
IV. Identify the most pressing aspects of labeling and apply them in practical situations;
V. Know when and how to apply nutrition and health claims;
VI. Mastery of different types of mentions, with special attention to allergens, nutrition declaration, country of origin, traceability.
Duration: 40.5h total, of which 14h of contact, b-learning.
