At IJUP, various scientific works by young researchers from U.Porto are presented in the form of:
1. Registration
Although IJUP is aimed at 1st and 2nd cycle students, the entire U.Porto academic community, including the researchers and teachers involved in the work submitted, will be able to attend the meeting. Anyone interested in taking part should therefore register.
2. Abstract Submission
Regardless of the type of communication to be presented at the event, an abstract must first be submitted for evaluation. The abstract must include the option of an oral or poster presentation. The topic of the work must correspond to one of IJUP’s thematic areas.
3. Abstract Review
All abstracts will be reviewed by a Jury, made up of specialists in the field of the work submitted, and expressly appointed for this purpose by the Scientific Commission. As well as checking that the abstract complies with the submission rules, the Jury will assess its admissibility, taking into account its scientific value and originality.
4. Presentation of Works
Works proposed and accepted for presentation at IJUP may be presented in one of two ways: Oral Communications or Posters. For each type of communication, specific rules will apply, to be consulted for the current IJUP edition.
5. Distinction of Works
The presentation of works at IJUP is aimed at 1st, 2nd cycle or Integrated Master’s students from the University of Porto, including mobility students, and 1st, 2nd cycle or Integrated Master’s students from other Higher Education Institutions, who have carried out the research to be presented in Organic Units (faculties) or Research Units at the U.Porto.
However, the entire U.Porto academic community, which includes the researchers and teachers involved in the work submitted, will be able to attend the presentations.
All works developed (completed or still in progress) as part of a course or research project during the 1st and 2nd cycle of studies will be considered for presentation at IJUP. Students enrolled in the 2023/2024 or 2024/2025 academic year are eligible to present a work for the 2024 edition.
Each student can only present 1 work. Each work can only be presented by 1 student at the event, even if co-authored. The certificate will be awarded to the person presenting.
