PARTICIPATION

The target audience for IJUP is U.Porto’s 1st and 2nd cycle or Integrated Master’s students (including mobility students).

However, the entire U.Porto academic community, including researchers and teachers involved in the work submitted, and the general public can take part in the Metting.

Registration is complete when, on the Mercatura platform, in the participant area, you register in the ‘EVENT REGISTRATION’ area.

The code generated will identify you during the IJUP edition in which you are taking part.

PRESENTATION OF WORKS

Only 1st and 2nd cycle or Integrated Master’s students (including mobility students) from U. Porto, or other higher education institutions, may present their work in the form of an Oral Communication or Poster, provided that the research to be presented has been carried out in Organic Units (faculties) or Research Units of the U. Porto.

Students enrolled in the 1st and 2nd cycles or Integrated Masters in the academic year in the academic year immediately preceding or current to the Edition in question.

All abstracts must be submitted on the platform available here, after registering and using the templates available in your participant area. You can also access the registration platform via the IJUP website.

It is the author’s responsibility to write the submitted abstract in English and proofread it technically and/or grammatically.

No. However, you can be a co-author on another work, submitted by another student.

No. Each student can only present one work. Each work can only be presented by one student at IJUP, even if co-authored.

All presentations are made in person.

Presentations should preferably be made in English, as this is one of the criteria for a work to be distinguished.

However, if you don’t feel comfortable presenting your work in English, you can present it in Portuguese.

The costs associated with printing posters or other material to support presentations are borne by the participant/author of the abstract.

CERTIFICATE OF PARTICIPATION

After the event, all participants receive a certificate of participation. In addition to receiving a certificate of participation, speakers will also receive one for presenting an Oral Communication or a Poster.

All certificates will be sent to all participants by email to the address provided in the registration form.

HONOURS SESSION

There are 5 evaluation criteria for distinguishing a work: 1. Organization, 2. Presentation, 3. Presentation aids, 4. Content, 5. Answers to the questions asked.

The list of distinguished works is published on the IJUP website, and all participants are notified by email.

The ‘Honours Session’ usually takes place during the month of July/August, in person, at the Rectory of the University of Porto.

Yes. All distinguished participants receive a certificate of distinction which will be handed out at the ‘Distinguished Session’.

PERSONAL DATA AND GRANTING OF IMAGE RIGHTS

As a visitor to IJUP, you may be included in photographs or audiovisual recordings taken during the event days or at the ‘Honours Session’, as part of the coverage carried out by the U.Porto Rectory’s Public Relations Department. If you register for the event, additional data collected through that registration form will be processed, in accordance with the information provided at that time.

Photographs and audiovisual recordings made during IJUP aim to create documentary materials and promote the initiative on U.Porto’s communication channels. This practice is based on the legitimate interest of the organization to document and publicise the event. It is also intended for sharing porpuses, specifically the photo album with all registered participants via a restricted access channel, considering the interest expressed by participants in previous editions.

Yes, IJUP’s participants or visitors have the right to oppose the capture, processing, and dissemination of their image. They can express their opposition, in writing, clearly indicating their wish not to allow the use of their image and/or sound. The organization will review the request and ensure compliance.

U.Porto adopts appropriate technical and organizational measures to ensure the protection of participants’ personal data, including the images and recordings taken during the event. The data is used exclusively for the established purposes and is stored securely, accordingly to applicable legal provisions.

The audiovisual data collected during IJUP will be stored only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, without prejudice to the participant’s request for the deletion of their personal data, in accordance with current law.

Any questions related to the processing of personal data by IJUP, or regarding the enforcement of the data subjects’ rights (access, rectification, deletion, opposition, or others), can be directed to the event organization ([email protected]) or to the U.Porto Data Protection Officer ([email protected]).
