Study at ICBAS - Student Support Structures

A support network for students on a daily basis.

Student Support Structures

ICBAS promotes a strong support structure for the day-to-day activities of its students. We want them to feel at home at every moment of their lives, so the integration, support and confidence of students are a concern of the school.

Student Support, Employability and Alumni Office

The Student Support, Employability and Alumni Office´s mission is to promote the academic integration of students; their academic success and their well-being and psychosocial development, facilitating and promoting ICBAS's interaction with current, future and former students, in close liaison with the services and management bodies.

ICBAS Mentoring

ICBAS-Mentoring is part of the University of Porto's Transversal Peer Mentoring Program. Recognizing the importance and potential of peer relationships for the quality of healthy integration, it aims to enable new students to count on the voluntary availability of colleagues who have been attending ICBAS for longer to accompany their inclusion process, stimulating healthy and democratic practices in higher education.

Student Ombudsman

The Student Ombudsman's main mission, without decision-making powers, is to defend and promote the rights and legitimate interests of U.Porto students in university situations, by acting independently, impartially and confidentially.

The Ombudsman's sphere of action covers all the governing bodies, services and agents of the central structure of the University of Porto, the Social Action Services, the Faculties and other Organic Units.

Students can, individually or collectively, submit complaints to the ombudsman regarding the actions or omissions of the bodies, services and agents of the University and its Organic Units, as well as make suggestions, namely on pedagogical issues or those related to social action.

There are also some student groups dedicated to promoting academic, recreational, and personal development activities and events for students in their respective courses.
