European Doctorate
ICBAS awards the title "European Doctorate" (approved by the Confederation of European Rectors' Councils) to the doctoral degree it confers on those who:
- has carried out, during his/her doctorate, a period of research of at least one full quarter as part of the work for the preparation of the doctoral thesis at a university in a European country, under a previous work/research plan that has the agreement of ICBAS

Co-tutorship
The international co-tutorship applies to students enrolling in similar doctoral programmes recognized as such by the institutions involved, with the doctoral work being carried out under the supervision of a professor from each of the institutions.
